"Yesterday" poem & "I'm Not Thru Loving You Yet"
Yesterday (This poem was composed by Chris Dyer about Ted's dad, and then read by Chris at Ted's funeral.) JUST YESTERDAY I HEARD YOUR VOICE, TODAY I REALIZE HOW MUCH I MISS IT. I NEVER THOUGHT IT WOULD BE THE LAST TIME I TOLD YOU "I LOVE YOU BUBBA", BUT OH WHAT I'D GIVE FOR JUST 5 MORE MINUTES TO TALK TO YOU AGAIN. I'D THANK YOU FOR SO MANY THINGS, I'D TELL YOU HOW MUCH YOU MEANT TO ME. OH, I'M SURE YOU ALWAYS KNEW, BUT I DIDN'T GET TO SAY EVERYTHING I HAVE STORED IN MY MEMORY. I'LL MISS ALL OF OUR TALKS ON THE PHONE, I THINK OF YOU NOW AS I SIT HERE ALONE. AT NIGHT I SEE THE STARS AND I KNOW THE BRIGHTEST ONE IS "YOU" LETTING US ALL KNOW YOU MADE IT SAFELY HOME. EVERY SUNRISE TO THE EAST AND EVERY SUNSET TO THE WEST, ASSURES ME "I'LL SEE YOU AGAIN MY FRIEND, WHEN HERE ON EARTH I AM LAID TO REST".
I'm Not Thru Loving You Yet (This song was written by one of Ted's Nashville friends for Ted's mom after his dad Bill passed away in April 2007. It was then recorded by a Nashville studio singer and played at the very end of Ted's funeral on Jan. 15, 2008.)
I watched the sunrise for the first time I had to face it alone It's been a long time since I've felt so childlike Lost in a world far from home
I read your letters to make me feel better While pictures of you fill my head Though I can't hold you, I can't let you go too 'Cause I'm not thru lovin' you yet Sometimes a memory gets caught in a heartbeat And holds on the rest of your life No make-believin' can stop such a feelin' If you're not ready to say good-bye Maybe tomorrow I'll turn my sorrows Back into smiles once again But for today my tears will remain 'Cause I'm not thru lovin' you yet
(short instrumental interlude) Sometimes a memory gets locked in a heartbeat And holds on the rest of your life No make-believin' can stop such a feelin' If you're not ready to say good-bye Maybe tomorrow I'll turn my sorrows Back into smiles once again But for today my tears will remain 'Cause I'm not thru lovin' you...yet But for today my tears will remain 'Cause I'm not thru lovin' you......yet
(in remembrance of Bill Stewart & Ted Evan Stewart)
